Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

The scripture above makes it clear that you should set a good example, as you never know who is watching and taking notes.  We aren't expected to soften someones' heart to God, but we are expected to live a life that may make someone draw near to us to ask us what our "secret" to a fulfilled life may be.  Plant the seed.... watch it grow.
